Legendary musician Omar Khairat gave an outstanding performance in Al-Ula’s Maraya Theatre as part of the Winter at Tantora festival on Friday.
Receiving a standing ovation from the audience of 500 from across the GCC, and many from Egypt, Khairat played many of his award-winning masterpieces.
Speaking about his participation in the event, Khairat said: “It was a great pleasure to witness the energy and pleasure of the audience at the Winter at Tantora Festival. The setting is truly stunning and brings back the feelings that inspired my greatest melodies.”
The Winter at Tantora Festival is a celebration of art, culture and heritage that continues until February 9th. Each weekend allows guests of the festival to discover Al-Ula’s greatest treasures and enjoy the classical music of some of the world’s most respected artists. Still to play are much-celebrated Chinese pianist Lang Lang on the 18thJanuary, Um Kulthum on the 25thJanuary, Andrea Bocelli on the 1stof February and Yanni on the 8thFebruary.
The Festival will also host The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Endurance Cup on the 2ndFebruary and a Hot Air Balloon Festival from 31stJanuary to 9thFebruary.
