With the support of Department of Health Abu Dhabi (DOH), Abu Dhabi hosts the 1st International Pediatric & Neonatology Conference on 10 – 11 January 2019 at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Abu Dhabi, organized by Danat Al Emarat Hospital for Women & Children in partnership with The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) Toronto, Canada. The conference is accredited for 16 CME hours.

 

A number of specialized physicians in Pediatric Subspecialties including Neurology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology and Orthopedics from SickKids are presenting at the conference, in addition to 2 international speakers from Italy, and 12 speakers from Danat Al Emarat Hospital and other key healthcare organizations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

 

Mr. Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, CEO and Managing Director of United Eastern Medical Services (UEMedical), the parent organization of Danat Al Emarat Hospital, said that the group is keen to expand its pediatric services by bringing in new subspecialties and the latest in the field. We also intend to help transfer global expertise in the pediatric and neonatology field to the region, through holding international conferences and scientific meetings, primarily aimed at exchanging knowledge, providing continuous medical education to the medical community, and providing information on the latest developments in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. This comes in line with the strategies of the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) to improve healthcare services across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.”

There will be a special focus on the latest research in these subspecialties presented by SickKids physicians at our 2-day conference.”

 

Dr. Iviano Ossuetta, Chairperson of the Conference, Head of Neonatology and Neonatology Consultant at Danat Al Emarat Hospital said, “Besides our 7 international speakers, the conference is hosting renowned physicians from key institutions in UAE including Danat Al Emarat Hospital, UAE University, Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Moorfields Eye Hospital Abu Dhabi and Corniche Hospital Abu Dhabi; who will present the latest research and technologies in their respective subspecialty.”

 

“Sessions will focus on sleep breathing disorders, epilepsy in children, car accidents prevention, pediatric immunology, respiratory viral diseases, nutrition in newborns, neonatal screening, speech language therapy techniques, community acquired pneumonia, minimal access neonatal surgery, metabolic bone diseases in children and more.  Two hands-on workshops will also be organized on echocardiography and cardiac birth defects screening in neonates, presented by Dr. Haitham Talo, Pediatric Cariology Consultant at Danat Al Emarat, and lung ultrasound imaging in NICU presented by Dr. Mariano Manzionna from Italy. Alongside the medical education sessions, there will a medical exhibition hosting several specialized pharmaceutical companies showcasing their latest technologies in diagnosis and treatment of pediatric diseases,” Dr. Ossuetta concluded.
